Beautiful park with various trails to walk and climb. The beach is also very nice, the water wasn't too cold for Lake Michigan. Be prepared to pay a fee to climb the lighthouse. Full review by Haj M

I believe dogs are allowed on the dunes as long as their vaccinations /rabies shots are up to date. Also dogs must be on a leash and the owner must pick up after them. Owners are not to leave dogs unattended or take dogs into state park buildings.

You need a permit to park there. You can buy it at the gate house. If you have a state park annual permit you are good. Accessing the dunes is done separately though and requires additional permits. If you just want to use the lake or walk the dunes, that is free if you park elsewhere and walk over.
