In the offseason, Vanderbilt hired former New Mexico State head coach Jerry Kill to take over the program. Kill promptly brought over his offensive coordinator, Tim Becky, and quarterback Diego Pavia from the Aggies.

Pavia finished the win over Alabama with two touchdowns on 252 yards, completing 16-of-20 pass attempts. He also added 56 yards on the ground. His No. 1 pass catcher was 6-foot-4 tight end Eli Stowers, who ended the game with six receptions and 113 yards.

Don’t put limits on what Pavia can do, and don't count out Clark Lea and Commodores when they decide to get creative.
