Yoshinobu Yamamoto will return to the Los Angeles Dodgers’ rotation next week after missing nearly three months with a right arm injury

Right-hander Yoshinobu Yamamoto will rejoin the Los Angeles Dodgers next week and start Tuesday's game against the Chicago Cubs, the team announced Wednesday. Yamamoto has been on the injured list with a rotator cuff strain since June 16.

While "it's hard to tell" what Shohei Ohtani would have done had the Angels matched the Dodgers' offer, his return to Anaheim this week makes clear that he has moved on.

For the first time as a visiting player, Shohei Ohtani returned to Angel Stadium on Tuesday night. Ohtani of course played the first six years of his career with the Los Angeles Angels before signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers this past offseason.

For nine innings on Tuesday night, the Dodgers played with their food at Angel Stadium. Only in extras, thanks to a four-run rally keyed by Mookie Betts’ three-run homer, did they finally assert their dominance over the last-place Angels.
