The Los Angeles Dodgers enjoyed a party that was more than three decades in the making on Friday as they celebrated their World Series win with an open-top bus parade through downtown Los Angeles before a pep rally at Dodger Stadium.

They came from Boyle Heights and Beverly Hills, from Culver City and Compton, from Silver Lake and Santa Monica. Citizens from every corner of this sprawling 500-square-mile burg and its many satellites converged on downtown as one buoyant body decked out in Dodger Blue,
