Lawyers representing victims say the store should "take responsibility" after sexual abuse allegations emerge.

Lawyers in Britain representing dozens of women say that Mohamed Al Fayed — the former boss of Harrods — was a “monster” who raped and sexually abused young women throughout his time at the helm of the world-renowned London department store.

Attorneys for 37 women said they would sue Harrods, the luxury department store, over the rape and sexual assault they say its former owner committed.

The legal team representing the alleged victims of the former owner of Harrods, Mohamed Al Fayed, say the late billionaire was a “monster” whose crimes were “enabled” by the high-end department store.

A news conference in London heard how Mohamed Al Fayed, the former boss of the Harrods department store who died last year at age 94, allegedly raped and sexually abused dozens of women.

Evidence against Mohamed Al-Fayed — the late Harrods owner accused of multiple rapes —was previously presented by police to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) in 2009 and 2015, though the organization determined there was not a 'realistic prospect of conviction' both times.

Evidence was presented by police in 2009 and 2015 over sex abuse claims against Mohammed Al Fayed.

Barrister Bruce Drummond KC and his legal team are representing 37 alleged victims and comparing the late Al Fayed to the likes of Jimmy Saville, Jeffrey Epstein and Harvey Weinstein.
