Senga has been out since February with shoulder and triceps problems. In his absence, the Mets’ starting pitchers have been middling, posting a 4.24 ERA that ranks 20th in the majors.

In his fourth rehab start, Kodai Senga gave up five runs on eight hits and three walks with one strikeout in three innings for Triple-A Syracuse.

Kodai Senga pitched in his third, and likely, final, rehab start on Saturday night with the Triple-A Syracuse Mets as he recovers from a shoulder injury, and it probably could have gone a little better.

Kodai Senga is scheduled to pitch against the Rochester Red Wings on Saturday and then may face the Atlanta Braves next weekend. The Japanese right-hander is slated to throw 80-85 pitches for Triple-A Syracuse in a rehab start,
