In that blowout, the Irish lost two starting offensive linemen in center Ashton Craig and right guard Billy Schrauth. They are replaced by veterans with starting experience, Pat Coogan at center and Rocco Spindler at right guard, but Coogan has never started at center, and that is thus a new fulcrum next to Spindler.

Miami (OH) (0-2, 0-0 MAC) is one of 12 remaining winless programs in the FBS. The RedHawks were subject to an early bye week and they haven’t played FCS competition yet, starting with a challenging slate of Northwestern and Cincinnati that ramps up in difficulty this week with Notre Dame.

Notre Dame (2-1) comes back home this weekend to face a second straight MAC opponent inside Notre Dame Stadium. The Fighting Irish will look to make this result much better than last time and will look to earn their first home win of the season. Standing in their way is the Miami RedHawks, the reigning MAC Champions.
