Water treatment player VA Tech WABAG Ltd has bagged an order worth Rs 1,000 crore from Indosol Solar Pvt Ltd to set up a sea water desalination plant, marking its foray into the solar photo-voltaic segment.

Shares of Va Tech Wabag rose 4.4% to a new 52-week high of Rs 1,743.8 on Tuesday after the company secured a Rs 1,000 crore order for a 100 MLD Sea Water Desalination Plant from Indosol Solar Private Limited for their solar PV manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh.

VA Tech Wabag expects to execute this project over a 38-month period, followed by a 15-year operation and maintenance agreement to ensure optimal functionality.

VA Tech WABAG has secured a Rs 1,000 crore order from Indosol Solar to build a 100 million litre per day sea water desalination plant in Andhra Pradesh.

The company has won its second order in the last week. On October 10, it stated that it had received repeat orders from Reliance Industries.
