The Powerball jackpot has gone unclaimed since Aug. 19, when a California player won the $44 million grand prize, lottery officials said. To score a jackpot in the Powerball, a player must match all five white balls and the red Powerball.

However, three tickets in California matched four of the six numbers, with each ticket winning $30,858. Powerball tickets sold in Arkansas, Texas and Virginia won at least $1 million. Since nobody won the jackpot, this prize increased to an estimated $176 million for Wednesday night’s drawing.
