Chicago police said the woman was inside a car at the intersection when she was struck in the back by gunfire by an unknown person.

A man is expected to face an aggravated assault charge after a standoff with police Tuesday night on the South Side.

Emergency crews were called to the 20 block of Sharon Street at 4:25 p.m. Once on scene, first responders found Eddie Kimber, who had been shot in the back. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
