ORLANDO, Fla. — The University of Central Florida is mourning the death of one of its students. The UCF student was one of the two people who died early Friday morning after a mass shooting during Halloween celebrations in downtown Orlando.

MIAMI -- A former Cypress Bay student was among the two people killed in the shootings during a Halloween celebration in Orlando, the City of Weston confirms. The city posted on the social media platform "X" that Tim Schmidt Jr. was one of the victims. The two people killed were described as a 25-year-old man and a 19-year-old man.
